ELIGIBILITY AND
SELECTION |
|
The following groups are eligible to participate in the Outreach
Programs: schools and organizations in low-income areas of
the Greater Toronto Area, who have limited arts programming
for children, and not-for-profit organizations that service
children and youth with financial, social and language barriers.
Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis.
Teachers and staff are required to provide support to the
visiting artist(s) during the workshop.
|
|
FEES |
|
The school/organization is responsible for providing an artist's
fee of $75 per day or $50 per half-day workshop (per artist).
Fees can be paid by Visa, Mastercard, or cheque (payable to
Arts for Children of Toronto) and are due when the workshop
is completed. Outreach recipients may be required to purchase
some art materials. This will be discussed during the consultation
with the Outreach Coordinator. Please note that there is a
$50 firing fee for pottery workshops.
|
|
ART MATERIALS |
|
Each school/organization will be responsible for providing
some basic art materials for the workshop. These materials
can usually be obtained from board stock, classrooms or can
be collected from participating students. A list of required
materials will be sent to the school/organization prior to
the Outreach Artist's first visit. Specialized materials will
be provided by Arts for Children of Toronto.
|
|
SET-UP/CLEAN-UP |
|
Arts for Children of Toronto encourages its artists to speak
with and/or visit the teachers/community groups that they
will be working with, in order to finalize workshop details
and expectations. Outreach Artists will need some assistance
in the set-up and clean-up for each scheduled visit (for example:
arranging for AV Equipment, washing art tools, arranging desks
etc.). A teacher or facilitator who is familiar with the children
must be present during the workshop. Our workshops are designed
to fit in the time designated, so any activities or events
that may conflict with the outreach program should be rescheduled.
Notification of schedule changes/cancellations should be reported
at least one week prior to the first visit.
