Camp 2005: We Beat The Heat With Cool Arts Activities!
From hip hop dance and
    West African drumming
    to our now famous
    talent showcase, "Arts
    Adventure Idol," the
    second season of the
    AFC Arts Adventure
Camp has come and gone with great success! Our
theme day, "Survivor South Africa" and the "beat
boxing" workshop with professional, Chris Salvador,
certainly added to the excitement around camp.
These were some of many firsts that were
introduced this summer. The Breakfast Club, dance
    department and Counsellor-In-Training Program
were other additions that also fused seamlessly with
the already existing innovative arts program. One of the many rewarding moments
was seeing the smiles on each camper's face after performing for
family and friends on Visitor's Day. Beaming with
pride, many of the children basked in the success of
their first performance in front of an audience.
We look forward to developing new programming, so that our campers have
the very best experience the city has to offer, at a subsidized cost,
for those who need it most. Please visit www.artsforchildren.org for updates
      throughout the year.

HSBC Bank Canada Funds Environmental Arts ProgramHSBC Bank Canada has generously donated
$25,000 a year to AFC for the next two years to
develop an environmental awareness program for
children from lower income areas in the city. These funds will allow
	    AFC to:
Send artist/instructors out to at least
10 schools each year to implement arts programming, integrating
environmental themes.Plan and design an exhibit of children's art in the Atrium
of BCE Place in 2006. AFC is grateful to HSBC for their generosity and especially for their multi-year
	    commitment. |
